Katrin Herrling is the founder and CEO of Funding Xchange and FXE Technologies, where she has been at the forefront of transforming access to finance for small and medium-sized businesses.

Through her work, she has built platforms that simplify and accelerate lending decisions, making commercial finance more accessible.

More recently, she has been leading the introduction of Agentic AI into complex lending processes, driving a new generation of intelligent systems that enhance human decision-making with structured credit papers, robust recommendations, and governance that ensures banks’ complex lending policies are accurately reflected.

Her leadership has positioned FXE as a key partner to major banks and financial institutions seeking to better serve commercial lending customers.

With a background spanning finance, strategy, and entrepreneurship, Katrin is a recognised voice in fintech innovation and SME finance. She is passionate about leveraging technology to create more inclusive financial ecosystems and has been instrumental in shaping industry collaboration between lenders, platforms, and policymakers.

As Chief Technology Officer at FXE Technologies, Matt Collinge leads the company’s technology strategy, engineering function and product delivery. He is responsible for driving the development of scalable, secure and innovative technology solutions, ensuring FXE continues to deliver high-performance platforms that meet the evolving needs of banks, lenders and financial institutions.

Matt brings more than 20 years’ of experience leading technology teams across financial services and fintech. His expertise spans software engineering, technology leadership, product development and platform scalability, with a strong track record of building high-performing teams and delivering complex technology solutions. He plays a key role in shaping FXE’s technology roadmap, championing engineering excellence and driving the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI, to support the future of commercial lending.

Before joining FXE, Matt spent eight years leading technology and product teams at London-based fintechs, including Curve in the B2C payments sector and Sequence in B2B FinOps. Earlier in his career, he played a pivotal role at ComparetheMarket.com, where he led the development of technology capable of processing more than 25 million insurance quotes every day, helping transform the UK insurance comparison market.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, often travelling across the Midlands to support his two teenagers at hockey matches. Having recently taken up the sport himself, he now also plays in his local hockey league.

She is responsible for driving operational excellence, strengthening delivery capabilities and creating the processes and collaboration needed to support FXE’s continued growth. Through her leadership, Lauren support the use of innovation into measurable outcomes for financial institutions and their customers.

Lauren specialises in technology operations, client success and business transformation, bringing experience across financial services, healthcare and life sciences. Working at the intersection of technology, operations and customer delivery, she plays a key role in shaping FXE’s growth strategy, improving operational effectiveness and ensuring teams are aligned around delivering meaningful client impact. Her background in biomedical engineering and life sciences provides a unique perspective on applying technology to solve complex challenges and create practical, real-world solutions.

Before joining FXE, Lauren built her career across technology-led organisations in highly regulated industries, developing expertise in operational delivery, stakeholder management and scaling innovative solutions. Her multidisciplinary experience enables her to bridge technical capability with commercial outcomes and customer needs.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys exploring new places and travelling, particularly returning to Australia to spend time with family and friends.

As Chief Financial Officer at FXE Technologies, Tom leads the company’s financial strategy, supporting sustainable growth and long-term value creation. He is responsible for driving financial planning, fundraising strategy and commercial decision-making, ensuring FXE has the financial foundations needed to scale its technology, expand its market impact and achieve its strategic ambitions.

Tom specialises in fundraising, leveraged finance, mergers and acquisitions, and financial strategy across high-growth technology businesses. With deep expertise spanning fintech, artificial intelligence and SaaS, he brings extensive experience in structuring complex financings, supporting business growth and delivering strategic acquisitions. At FXE, he plays a key role in enabling investment decisions, strengthening financial governance and supporting the leadership team as the business continues to innovate within financial services technology.

Prior to joining FXE, Tom built his career supporting venture-backed and private equity-backed businesses through periods of rapid growth and transformation. He has successfully led complex financing processes and delivered bolt-on acquisitions, helping businesses scale effectively while maintaining strong commercial and operational discipline.

Outside of work, Tom enjoys spending time outdoors and can often be found exploring Scotland’s coastline in search of empty waves or taking on new mountain bike trails.

He is responsible for defining the product vision and roadmap, aligning business and technology priorities, and ensuring FXE’s products deliver measurable value for clients and their customers.

Erik specialises in data-driven products, analytics and product innovation, working at the intersection of product, data and technology. During more than seven years at FXE, he has evolved the company’s data capabilities from a traditional analytics function into a product-led discipline, developing solutions that help lenders better understand risk, optimise portfolio performance and uncover valuable insights. More recently, he has been been leading the exploration of Agentic AI to enhance underwriting processes and unlock new approaches that challenge conventional lending practices.

Outside of work, music is a constant – whether listening, singing, or experimenting with drum machines and synths. Erik dedicates most of his time and energy to his fiancée and their two cats (Fuji & Spooky), making the most of life and maximising the fun along the way.

As Head of Client Solutions Liam works closely with our clients at the intersection between the sales, product and delivery functions to translate the problems and goals of our clients into actionable solutions using FXE’s technology platform capabilities.

Liam has over 10 years experience working in financial technology and prior to joining FXE Liam worked at fintech startup Divido, where as one of the earliest employees he was key in helping them to launch their white labelled POS finance platform, leading their solutions function to then deliver the platform to some of the worlds largest banks and retailers.

In his spare time Liam is a keen 5-aside football player, where on the west London circuit he has the nickname ‘the cat’ – which he likes to think is down to his fast reflexes but is more likely due to his love of snacks and refusal to do any running out field.

Sam specialises in commercial finance, fintech and customer success, helping financial institutions adopt innovative technology that improves efficiency, enhances customer journeys and broadens access to finance for SMEs. He works closely with clients and internal teams to translate business needs into practical solutions, supporting the delivery of seamless experiences and helping organisations transform the way they approach commercial finance.

Before joining FXE, Sam developed his expertise within financial services through roles at NatWest and Esme Loans, gaining valuable experience across business lending, relationship management and fintech. His background enables him to understand both the challenges faced by lenders and the opportunities technology creates to improve access to finance.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys spending time with his daughter and taking on the ongoing challenge of DIY projects, with a never-ending list of improvements and ideas to keep him busy.

As an Engineering Lead at FXE Technologies, Martin plays a key role in shaping the development and delivery of robust, scalable technology solutions. He is responsible for supporting engineering excellence, guiding technical delivery and helping teams build reliable platforms that meet the evolving needs of financial institutions and their customers.

Martin specialises in software engineering, system architecture and technology transformation, with more than 15 years’ of experience delivering complex software solutions across the telecoms, automotive and financial services sectors. At FXE Technologies, he helps drive engineering best practice, technical innovation and the delivery of high-quality solutions that support the company’s mission to improve commercial lending through technology.

Prior to joining FXE Technologies, Martin led the migration of a high-volume investment bank transaction management system from legacy database technology to a modern platform capable of processing more than 10 million financial transactions per day. This experience has given him deep expertise in building resilient systems, managing complex technology change and delivering solutions at scale.

Outside of work, Martin enjoys exploring the outdoors and is an enthusiastic ‘Munro bagger’. Based in Scotland, he has already completed 105 Munros and is working towards conquering the remaining peaks, alongside spending time with his two young sons.

Before joining FXE Technologies, Will spent seven years at a leading digital banking platform provider, delivering Identity and Access Management solutions for banks worldwide. This experience gave him deep expertise in building secure, resilient systems and understanding the complex technology requirements of highly regulated financial services organisations.

Outside of work, Will enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He also takes great pride in maintaining his lawn, continually striving to keep it in the best possible condition.
